GigPress 1.2.7 posted

Posted by Derek on Monday, February 18th, 2008 | 4

The latest bump to GigPress includes both Spanish and French translations (thanks Jorge and Frédéric!), and some other small fixes and improvements (thanks again to Frédéric and Jorge for finding some of these for me.) For the full list of changes, check the release notes on the download page.

I should also note that so far I haven’t encountered any issues using GigPress with the forthcoming WordPress 2.5, so there should be no worries about upgrading in that respect. I’ve also adjusted the styling in the admin area slightly to be more unified with the new (and unfortunately not so fantastic) admin theme that will debut in WP 2.5.

Thanks for an amazing plugin! I have numerous friends who I’ve build wordpress blogs for, who will really benefit from this one . . . keep up the good work!

Hey! I just found your plugin and I must say it looks great! I’m using another plugin right now, but it probably won’t get wordpress 2.5 support, so I’m now abandoning it for yours instead! Anyway, since my site mostly is about me and which concerts with which bands I’m playing I’m having a bit of a problem. I would also like to list with which band I’m playing.

It would also be nice to be able to change the order of items appearing in the output, for me the venue is more important than the city for example, so I would probably put that first. Another thing that would be nice would be the possibility to have the whole country name to be written out, instead of just the two letter combination. Anyway, if this is just crazy talk from a non plugin coder, never mind me! For now I’m gonna use the City field as Band Field, and Venue field as both venue and city field. This will probably be ok too!

Thanks again for a nice script, a donation is coming if I get it up and running!

Hey, I’m pretty new to this and I’m trying to install this plugin but I can’t find the wp-plugins page to upload the Gigpress. I as under the impression that WordPress didn’t allow the upload of plugins. Do you need an upgrade to do this?

    Thank you from a begginer…

@Juan – you need to have a self-hosted WordPress blog in order to use plugins, that’s why you’re having trouble. Check out http://wordpress.org/hosting/ for more details.
